The Ambassador

Her Excellency Mavis Esi Kusorgbor was commissioned as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Angola on 7th July, 2022 by the President of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.  

A seasoned diplomat, Ambassador Mavis Kusorgbor has been working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration since April, 1997 and served in various capacities and Bureaux over the years. These Bureaux include, Protocol; Europe; Policy Planning and Research; Americas; Information, Culture and Linguistics, as well as the International Organizations and Conferences, now known as the Multilateral Relations.  

Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, she held the position of Director of the Multilateral Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration from July, 2019 to July, 2022.

Abroad, she served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Ghana Embassy in Madrid; the Vice Consul at the Consulate General of Ghana, Dubai; Deputy Head of Mission at the Ghana Embassy in Cairo; and as a Conference Officer at the Ghana Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.

Ambassador Kusorgbor’s career as a Foreign Service was preceded by stints as Research Assistant and Content Researcher at the then Price Water House Associates and Africa Online Ghana Limited, respectively.  

A product of the Legon Centre for International Affairs and the University of Ghana, H. E. Mavis Esi Kusorgbor holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.   She loves reading, listening to music and gardening.
